From material analysis to final assembly – a focus on quality underlines the whole production process. You can rely on Steinmeyer to check and measure each detail using special machines and expertise. Spindle shafts are checked using Barkhausen Noise Analysis. In this way, residual stress caused by abrasive burning and other processing faults can be detected effectively. In addition, we have a laboratory that can produce metallographic sections and carry out measurements of micro-hardness according to the relevant AMS standards. We also verify and document heat treatment processes through similar means.

Certified quality management systems

After final assembly, the ball screw drives are checked to determine whether they meet their specification exactly. Functional testing, such as measurement of idling torque, are instrumental for achieving consistent production quality, a key Steinmeyer philosophy. Naturally, Steinmeyer has certified quality management systems in place according to ISO 9001 and EN 9100. The integrity of these QM systems is verified through auditing by external organizations as well as our major customers. For non-destructive testing, and other special procedures, Steinmeyer works with partners who have the relevant qualifications, including NADCAP certification. Suppliers at Steinmeyer are also incorporated into our quality systems by means of various agreements and audits.
